Braided Friendship Bread

As seen in “Why Worry?” Season 1, Episode 8

Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cup all purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon sugar

  • 2 teaspoons yeast

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 cup water

  • 2 tablespoons oil

Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees

  2. Heat water in a bowl in the microwave until it’s lukewarm

  3. Dissolve sugar and yeast in warm water. Let stand until creamy (~10 minutes)

  4. Stir in flour, salt and oil. Mix until smooth and let stand for 5 minutes

  5. Roll out dough into long strips using your fingers

  6. Braid into desired shape

  7. Put into the oven and bake for ~20 minutes, until golden brown 

  8. Take out of oven and let cool for 10-15 minutes

  9. Pull off a piece and eat!
